Abstract

Provisions

1.       Appropriates $7,650,000 from the GF in each FY to ADOA for essential county services.

2.       Requires ADOA to distribute the monies equally to each county with a population of 500,000 or fewer persons (all Arizona counties excluding Maricopa and Pima).

Current Law

According to JLBC, the Baseline includes an ongoing distribution of $6,000,500 from the GF to ADOA for assistance to counties, which would be allocated equally among all counties with a population of less than 200,000 (all counties excluding Mohave, Yavapai, Pinal, Pima and Maricopa).  Each county receives $550,050.

The FY 2018 General Appropriation Act appropriated $1,650,150 in onetime GF monies to ADOA for equal distribution to counties with a population of more than 200,000 and less than 900,000 (Pinal, Yavapai and Mohave Counties).  Each county received $550,050 (JLBC FY 2019 Baseline).
