Relating to publishing of public notices.
Provisions
1. Removes the requirement that county and state publishing and printing of notices be done with a newspaper that has been admitted to the U.S. mail as a second-class matter for at least one year. (Sec. 1)
2. Makes technical and conforming changes. (Sec. 1, 2)
Current Law
When publication of a notice in a newspaper is authorized by law, it must be done in a newspaper of general circulation that is printed in English and has been admitted to the U.S. mail as a second-class matter for at least one year (A.R.S. §§ 39-201 & 39-204). A BOS is required to annually contract for all required advertising, publishing and printing. The contract must be made with a newspaper that is the lowest and best bidder and that has been admitted to the U.S. mail as a second-class matter for at least one year (A.R.S. § 11-255).
