Allows the Arizona Department of Transportation to share pertinent computer programs with out-of-state agencies and political subdivisions.

History

The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), as well as other state transportation departments throughout the country, utilize private entities to develop web-based and computer software programs that are generally used to improve efficiency or educate employees.  Additionally, such programs may also be developed by a Department of Transportation (DOT) internal technology division.  For instance, some programs that have been developed for ADOT’s use include web-based employee training programs and an online safety product catalogue.  Current law allows ADOT to license, distribute, lease or sell computer software to private entities and other in-state agencies.
