Joint Legislative Committee on Homelessness
PURPOSE: To: (1) serve as a public forum for the purpose of discussing issues regarding current and potential services and programs to reduce homelessness and to assist the homeless; (2) advise the private sector and the executive branch of government of programs and policies pertaining to homelessness; and (3) review homelessness programs and services to ensure efficient and coordinated use of resources. The Committee shall submit periodic reports concerning homelessness issues, including an annual report, to the Governor, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the President of the Senate by December 31 of each year. The committee shall provide a copy of the annual report to the Secretary of State and the Director of the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records on or before December 31.

Notes: Public members shall not be employees of the State. At least five members of the Committee shall be involved in providing homelessness assistance programs. The advisory member is not eligible to vote and does not count for purposes of determining a quorum. The Legislature shall provide staff, administrative and technical support and meeting space.
