Arizona Capitol Television/Legislative Broadcast is the Arizona State Legislature’s department in charge of live-streaming and archiving committee proceedings. Our nonpartisan staff serves both the House and Senate by capturing committee footage, maintaining the online archive, and being available to lawmakers for legislative outreach videos.
No prior experience is required; our equipment is intuitive and easy to learn. By week two, our interns find themselves fully immersed in the legislative process. Where other interns may staff only one committee, Legislative Broadcast interns can produce coverage of all 27 of the legislature’s publicly streamed committees.
Broadcast interns also can gain video editing experience and have the chance to speak to and hear from professionals in a variety of trades around the Capitol. (Lawyers, lobbyists, journalists)
Our department’s participation in the Arizona Legislative Internship Program (ALIP) offers students a chance to learn about politics and policy from a behind-the-scenes perspective, developing the necessary professional and personal skills to continue a successful career in public service.
