Ceci is an Arizona native, born and raised in Phoenix. She is 2nd generation Mexican-American. Her background experience includes employment as a paralegal for accomplished Phoenix attorneys in the field of domestic relations, criminal, bankruptcy, and election law. She also worked in social services for the State of Arizona for 12 years. Being a state employee helped her recognize the desire to help her community in a more proactive way. Ceci earned her associates degree and paralegal certificate from Phoenix College and is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in nonprofit leadership and management from Arizona State University. She is also an advocate for education, equality issues (LGBTQ, Women’s Rights, Equal Pay) juvenile justice causes, at-risk teens, for families with incarcerated loved ones and prisoners’ rights. Her desire to ensure the support families of the incarcerated at a higher capacity is why she founded Arizona Guidance Organization, a nonprofit organization that provides support to families affected by Arizona’s broken justice system.
Ceci decided to expand her leadership skills and learn how to be a part of creating change for her community. Therefore, she participated in the following programs: 2011 Arizona Local Progressive Candidate Training; 2012 Arizona Political Leaders Fellowship with the Center of Progressive Leaders, and Emerge Arizona Class of 2013. Ceci’s greatest role though is that of a mother to her five beautiful children and grandmother to her granddaughter Aliyah. Her family and strong roots in Arizona is what continues to inspire her to stay active in the community to ensure a better future for her family and Arizona’s families. The interests of Arizona’s families and children are a top priority. Ceci is proud to serve Legislative District 29 at the Arizona Legislature. Ceci states her education, dedication, loyalty and life experiences are what qualify her to be the House Representative in LD29. |
