AN ACT

 

Repealing section 41‑3017.03, Arizona Revised Statutes; amending Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41‑3025.03; relating to the Arizona exposition and state fair board.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Repeal

Section 41-3017.03, Arizona Revised Statutes, is repealed.

Sec. 2.  Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-3025.03, to read:

START_STATUTE41-3025.03.  Arizona exposition and state fair board; termination July 1, 2025

A.  The Arizona exposition and state fair board terminates on July 1, 2025.

B.  Title 3, chapter 8, article 1 and this section are repealed on January 1, 2026. END_STATUTE

Sec. 3.  Purpose

Pursuant to section 41‑2955, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes, the legislature continues the Arizona exposition and state fair board to:

1.  Maintain the state fairgrounds and Arizona veterans memorial coliseum facilities in good condition and use these facilities for the enjoyment of the people of this state.

2.  Direct and conduct state fairs, exhibits, contests and entertainments for the purpose of advancing the interests of this state and the counties of this state.

3.  Generate sufficient monies to defray the operating expenses of the state fairgrounds and the Arizona veterans memorial coliseum.

Sec. 4.  Retroactivity

Sections 1 and 2 of this act are effective retroactively to from and after July 1, 2017.
