AN ACT
amending title 49, chapter 3, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 49-414; relating to air quality.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 49, chapter 3, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 49-414, to read:
49-414. All hazards generator; emissions exemption; standard
A. Notwithstanding any other law, a generator and its related pumps, equipment and systems that are certified for compliance with the united states department of defense specification MIL-STD-188-125-1 in effect on January 1, 2017 are exempt from state and county air quality emissions standards.
B. If required for compliance with the clean air act, the department shall request from the United States environmental protection agency an exemption from the clean air act provisions that regulate emissions caused by the use and operation of generators that are certified as prescribed by subsection A of this section.
