AN ACT

 

repealing section 41‑3014.16, Arizona Revised Statutes; amending title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41‑3016.17; relating to the Arizona public safety communications advisory commission.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Repeal

Section 41-3014.16, Arizona Revised Statutes, is repealed.

Sec. 2.  Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-3016.17, to read:

A.  The Arizona public safety communications advisory commission terminates on July 1, 2016.

B.  Title 41, chapter 32, article 4 is repealed on January 1, 2017. END_STATUTE

Sec. 3.  Purpose

Pursuant to section 41‑2955, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes, the legislature continues the Arizona public safety communications advisory commission to make recommendations regarding the development of a state‑of‑the-art public safety interoperable communications network for Arizona and a long-term interoperability plan for the use of the network.

Sec. 4.  Report; delayed repeal

A.  On or before June 30, 2015, the Arizona public safety communications advisory commission shall submit a report to the senate public safety and house of representatives public safety, military and regulatory affairs committee of reference on the commission's progress toward implementing the recommendations of the committee of reference.

B.  The commission shall provide copies of the report to the members of the joint legislative audit committee and the secretary of state.

C.  This section is repealed from and after December 31, 2015.

Sec. 5.  Retroactivity

Sections 1 and 2 of this act are effective retroactively to July 1, 2014.
