AN ACT
amending title 15, chapter 14, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding article 12; relating to credit card marketing on postsecondary campuses.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 15, chapter 14, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding article 12, to read:
ARTICLE 12. CREDIT CARD MARKETING ON CAMPUSES
15-1897. Credit card marketing on campuses; gifts and other incentives; prohibition; exception; definition
A. A university under the jurisdiction of the Arizona board of regents shall not allow a credit card marketer to offer gifts or any other promotional incentives to persons on the campus of the university in order to solicit those persons to apply for a credit card or any other type of consumer credit.
B. A community college under the jurisdiction of a community college district shall not allow a credit card marketer to offer gifts or any other promotional incentives to persons on the campus of the community college in order to solicit those persons to apply for a credit card or any other type of consumer credit.
C. This section does not apply to solicitation for a credit card application or any other type of consumer credit application by a bank or credit union that is located on the campus of a university or community college if the solicitation is made at the offices of the bank or credit union.
D. For the purposes of this section, "credit card marketer" means a person, corporation, financial institution or business entity that promotes, offers or accepts applications for a credit card or any other type of consumer credit.
