AMENDMENT EXPLANATION
The amendment clarified that an Arizona employee is
entitled to workers comp coverage in Arizona and they are so entitled even if
injured outside of Arizona.
The bill provides that the Industrial Commission can
issue an insurance coverage verification certificate. The amendment adds
the option of Dept. Of Insurance issuing that certificate.
The amendment clarifies that the 90-day period for
temporary employment in the state is continuous and nt a total of 90 days.
The amendment strikes the requirement that the
verification certificate include extraterritorial coverage because neither the
Industrial Commission nor the Dept. Of Insurance can do that verification. It
also makes conforming and Rules Committee changes.

"A. If
a worker who has been hired or is regularly employed in this state receives a
personal injury by accident arising out of and in the course of the worker's
employment, the worker is entitled to compensation according to the laws of
this state even if the injury was received outside this state."
