AN ACT

 

Repealing section 41-3012.02, Arizona Revised Statutes; amending title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41‑3022.02; relating to game and fish.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Repeal

Section 41-3012.02, Arizona Revised Statutes, is repealed.

Sec. 2.  Title 41, chapter 27, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-3022.02, to read:

START_STATUTE41-3022.02.  Game and fish; termination July 1, 2022

A.  The Arizona game and fish department, the Arizona game and fish commission and the director of the Arizona game and fish department terminate on July 1, 2022.

B.  Title 17, chapter 2, articles 1, 2 and 3 are repealed on January 1, 2023. END_STATUTE

Sec. 3.  Purpose

Pursuant to section 41-2955, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes, the legislature continues the Arizona game and fish commission, the Arizona game and fish department and the director of the Arizona game and fish department to manage wildlife and wildlife habitat in this state as provided by law.

Sec. 4.  Game and fish; audit; auditor general

On or before December 31, 2013, the auditor general shall conduct and complete a performance audit, as defined in section 41-1278, Arizona Revised Statutes, of the Arizona game and fish commission, the Arizona game and fish department and the director of the Arizona game and fish department.  The auditor general shall submit copies of the performance audit to the governor, the president of the senate, the speaker of the house of representatives and the secretary of state.

Sec. 5.  Retroactivity

Sections 1 and 2 of this act are effective retroactively to July 1, 2012.
