AN ACT

 

Amending title 41, chapter 7, article 3, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41‑1134; relating to rules committees.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 41, chapter 7, article 3, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-1134, to read:

START_STATUTE41-1134.  Rules committee; powers; budget reconciliation legislation

In addition to any other powers and duties prescribed by rule of the house of representatives and the senate, the rules committee, or its successor committee, of the house of representatives and the senate:

1.  Shall identify the legislative sponsor of each proposed policy change in the budget reconciliation bills that are under the committee's consideration.

2.  May review and make substantive amendments to the budget reconciliation bills without concurrence of the bill sponsor.END_STATUTE
