AN ACT

 

Amending title 36, chapter 12, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 36-1426; relating to public housing.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 36, chapter 12, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 36-1426, to read:

START_STATUTE36-1426.  Public housing; residents; legal status

A public housing authority, city, town or county shall require that a person who is applying for public housing provide verification of United States citizenship or documented verification of qualified alien status.  A public housing authority, city, town or county shall not offer public housing to any person who cannot provide this verification.
