SUBJECT: House Changes to S.B. 1205 – schools; transportation RCL; limited increases

As passed by the Senate, S.B. 1205 prohibits school districts from increasing their Transportation Revenue Control Limit if it is greater than 120 percent of their Transportation Support Level.
The House of Representatives amended the bill as follows:
1. Increases the number of days used by school districts to calculate Transportation Support Level from 175 to 180 days.
2. Appropriates $5,500,000 from the state General Fund in FY 2006-2007 to the Arizona Department of Education to fund the Transportation Support Level based on a 180-day school year.
