AN ACT

 

amending title 16, chapter 6, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 16-955.01; relating to the citizens clean elections act.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Subject to the requirements of article IV, part 1, section 1, Constitution of Arizona, title 16, chapter 6, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 16-955.01, to read:

START_STATUTE16-955.01.  Special audit; citizens clean elections commission; report

Beginning in 2007, the auditor general shall PERFORM a special audit of the citizens clean elections commission and the monies received and distributed by the commission.  The report is due on November 1 of each odd‑numbered year and shall cover the preceding two years.  The report shall be submitted to the speaker of the house of representatives, the PRESIDENT of the senate and the governor.END_STATUTE

Sec. 2.  Requirements for enactment; three-fourths vote

Pursuant to article IV, part 1, section 1, Constitution of Arizona, title 16, chapter 6, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 16-955.01, and is effective only on the affirmative vote of at least three-fourths of the members of each house of the legislature.
