AN ACT
Amending title 13, chapter 36, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 13-3626; relating to crimes.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 13, chapter 36, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 13-3626, to read:
13-3626. Unlawful sale or purchase of human oocytes for human cloning; classification; definition
A. A person shall not sell or offer to sell a human oocyte for human somatic cell nuclear transfer and shall not purchase or offer to purchase a human oocyte for human somatic cell nuclear transfer.
B. A person who violates this section is guilty of a class 6 felony.
C. For the purposes of this section, "human somatic cell nuclear transfer" means human asexual reproduction that is accomplished by introducing the genetic material from one or more human somatic cells into a fertilized or unfertilized oocyte whose nuclear material has been removed or inactivated to produce an organism, at any stage of development, that is genetically virtually identical to an existing or previously existing human organism.
