Cochairman Tibshraeny called the meeting to order at 10:10 a.m. and attendance was noted.
Opening Remarks
Tim Grubbs, Senate Appropriations Research Analyst, stated the charge of the Committee and answered questions posed by the Committee.
Presentation of State Employee Compensation Ranking and Market Comparison – Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA)
Kathy Peckardt, ADOA, gave a presentation on State Employee Compensation Ranking and Market Comparison and submitted a handout of the Advisory Recommendations (Attachment A). Ms. Peckardt answered questions posed by the Committee.
Public Testimony
Charles Foy, President, CWA Arizona State Council, gave public testimony and answered questions posed by the Committee.
Jesse Cuilty, Service Employees International Union State, Employee Chapter, gave public testimony.
Brent Fine, State Employee, representing himself, submitted a handout regarding deferred compensation (Attachment B) and gave public testimony. Mr. Fine answered questions posed by the Committee.
Representative Konopnicki requested a report from ADOA regarding deferred compensation plans and outreach and ADOA Director, Bill Bell, agreed to furnish such report.
Consideration of Recommendations
Senator Tibshraeny gave the Committee recommendations to consider (Attachment C) and the Committee held discussion.
Adoption of Recommendations
Cochairman Bill Konopnicki moved that all recommendations discussed in Committee be adopted. The motion passed by voice vote.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:20 a.m.
