Chairman Nelson called the meeting to order at 11:05 a.m. and attendance was noted.

 

Opening Remarks

 

Tony DeMarco, Senate Research Analyst, explained the background on the Sunset Review process and answered questions posed by the Committee.

 

Discussion was held by the Committee.

 

Public Testimony

 

Senator Nelson asked Mr. Bas Aja to address the Committee regarding their questions and to give background information on the Agricultural Best Management Practices Advisory Committee.

 

Bas Aja, Executive Vice-President, Arizona Cattlemen's Association, testified in support of the continuance of the Agricultural Best Management Practices Advisory Committee for ten years and answered questions posed by the Committee.

Recommendation by the Committee of Reference

 

Representative Crandell moved that the Committee of Reference recommend to continue the Agricultural Best Management Practices Advisory Committee for ten years.

 

Senator Nelson asked if the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) would like to address the Committee.  The ADEQ spokesman stated there was nothing to add.

 

The motion CARRIED with a voice vote.

 

Attached is a list noting the individuals who registered their position on the agenda items (Attachment A).

 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 11:25 a.m.
