CoChairman Klein called the meeting to order at 10:07 a.m. and attendance was noted.

 

FY 2012 Funding Summary

 

Jean Ajamie, Arizona Department of Education, distributed "FY 2012 School Safety Program Legislative Oversight Committee Funding Summary" (Attachment A), and discussed the following points:

 

·         Revenue

·         Expenditures

 

Consideration of FY 2012 Awards

 

Jean Ajamie, Arizona Department of Education, distributed "School Safety Program Legislative Oversight Committee FY 2012 School Safety Program Application Award Recommendations" (Attachment B) and explained the award recommendation matrix.  She discussed how applications are rated and the guidelines for choices.

 

Senator Klein moved the School Safety Program Oversight Committee approve the FY 2012 application awards.  The motion CARRIED by a voice vote.

 

Assignment of Appeal Panel

 

Jean Ajamie, Arizona Department of Education, explained the appeal process and the need to appoint a three-member appeal panel.

 

Senator Klein appointed the following members to the Appeal Panel:

     

      Dr. Fred DePrez

      Andy Swann

      Brenda Flynn

 

Consideration of Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education Contract 

 

Jennifer Castro, Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education, distributed "Arizona Foundation for Legal Services & Education, Arizona School Safety Program Law-Related Education Academy, FY 2011-2012 Proposal" (Attachment C) and she explained the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education.  She discussed the contract proposal.

 

Senator Klein moved the School Safety Program Oversight Committee approve the renewal of the Arizona Foundation for Legal Services and Education FY 2012 contract.  The motion CARRIED by voice vote.

 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 10:31 a.m.
