Multistate Highway Transportation Agreement

PURPOSE:     Participating jurisdictions constitute a Committee which may: (1) collect, correlate, analyze and evaluate information resulting from research and testing activities in relation to vehicle size and weight related matters; (2) recommend and encourage research and testing of vehicle size and weight related matters; and (3) recommend changes in law or policy emphasizing compatibility of laws, administrative rules or regulations to promote effective governmental action or coordination in vehicle size and weight related matters. The Committee shall submit to the Legislature of each participating jurisdiction, by November 1 of each year, a report setting forth the work of the Committee during the preceding year and any recommendations.

Notes:  The Committee Chair in each house shall designate one alternative designated representative who shall also be a legislator or a state agency official to serve in their absence.
