A third generation Arizonan, Representative Kate Brophy McGee was born into a ranching family in southern Arizona and grew up in Bisbee and Tucson. Following her graduation from the University of Arizona, Representative Brophy McGee worked as a community banker lending to small businesses. She saw firsthand how hard business owners work to create the jobs that drive Arizona’s economy.

Representative Brophy McGee and her husband, Bob McGee, married twenty-five years ago and have lived in Legislative District 11 ever since. Their three sons attended public schools and all graduated from Sunnyslope High School.

Prior to joining the House of Representatives, Representative Brophy McGee spent nearly a decade on the Washington Elementary School Board. She served four terms as Board President. During that time she balanced budgets, lowered property taxes and reduced spending while directing needed resources to the classroom. Brophy McGee also served nearly six years on the Arizona School Facilities Board, including one term as Chair.

As a mother, banker and community leader, Representative Brophy McGee knows how to work with people and get things done with patience and persistence.
