State Representative Mark A. Cardenas currently represents the 19th Legislative District at the Arizona House of Representatives. He is currently serving his 3rd term and sits on the Ways & Means, and Appropriations Committees.Representative Cardenas is a native Arizonan. His father has worked hard all his life in the trucking industry and his mom works as a housekeeper. Their work ethic lead Mark to enlist in the US Army where he did one combat tour in Iraq. Following his active duty, he used the GI Bill to attend both Phoenix College and the University of Southern California. Afterwards, he worked as an accountant at the Department of Defense managing a multi-million dollar budget. In 2012, he decided to run for office to solve the large problems facing our state. During his time at the Capitol, he has helped expand healthcare to half a million Arizonans, obtained housing for homeless veterans, and obtained increased education funding for public schools.
