Rep. Olson was first elected to the House of Representatives in November of 2010. He currently serves as the Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, member of the Government and Higher Education Committee and as a member of the Ways and Means Committee.

In addition to his responsibilities at the Legislature, Rep. Olson also works full time for the Apollo Education Group as a Tax Analyst processing corporate income tax returns.

Prior to running for office, Justin advocated for business friendly tax policy at the state and local level as a Senior Research Analyst for the Arizona Tax Research Association and worked on Capitol Hill as a Congressional Aide for Arizona Congressmen Trent Franks.

Many organizations have recognized Rep. Olson’s leadership on critical issues at the legislature. Rep. Olson was named the Legislator of the Year and Champion of the Taxpayer by American’s for Prosperity, a School Choice Champion by the American Federation for Children, the Representative of the Year by the National Federation of Small Businesses, the Free Market Champion by the Free Enterprise Club, and the Champion of the Taxpayer by the Arizona Republican Party. Rep. Olson has an “A” rating from the National Rifle Association.

Justin is a fourth generation Arizonan. He was born and raised in Mesa where he and his wife, Karyn, are currently raising their four boys and four girls.
