Jack W. Harper, Republican and veteran with small business experience, has been elected to his first term in the Arizona State House of Representatives in Legislative District Four, winning his elections by an over-whelming majority. Harper served the same district eight years in the Arizona State Senate

Senator Harper moved to Arizona in 1974 at the age of s even. Upon graduating from high school in 1985, he attended college before entering the U.S. Army. He served for two years in Germany in the First Infantry Division and then continued to serve his country as a member of the Arizona Army National Guard for another 6 years, finishing his 8-year enlistment as a Sergeant E-5. In 1992, he set out to be a small business owner and began the process of working 2 to 3 jobs at a time and saving every dollar he could to open his franchise business. At the age of 28, he opened his first restaurant with thirty employees. Six years later, after gathering business and community experience, he decided to run for the Senate.

Representative Harper has been married to his wife, Holly since May, 1990. Holly is an Assistant Principal with the Deer Valley Unified School District. They have two daughters, Jaclyn 19 and Amanda 16, and the whole family is very active in their community. Representative Harper has sponsored many youth sports teams, such as Arrowhead Little League and AYSO Soccer. For years, he sponsored the principal’s list at elementary schools, where he donated lunches to students who have achieved straight A’s in the quarter. He has been recognized by the Deer Valley Education Foundation for his contributions to education. He has also sponsored reading incentive programs at many schools to aid the teachers in encouraging children to read. Representative Harper has sponsored many church functions, women’s groups and various other organizations. He has lived in the northwest Valley for approximately Fourteen years, and resides in Surprise, near Sun City West and Sun City Grand.
