FUNCTION OF THE State Liquor Board:

Pursuant to A.R.S. § 4-112, the Board is required to grant and deny applications to manufacture, sell or deal in spirituous liquors, adopt rules, hear appeals and hold hearings regarding applicants and licensees. 

 

 

STATUTORY REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:

Pursuant to A.R.S. § 4-111 the Board consists of seven members who serve three-year terms.  Five of the members of the board cannot be financially interested directly or indirectly in business licensed to deal with spirituous liquors. Two members are required to be currently engaged in business in the spirituous liquor industry or have been engaged in the past in business in the spirituous liquor industry, at least one of whom is currently a retail licensee or employee of a retail licensee. One member is required to be a member of a neighborhood association recognized by a county, city or town.

SALARY OR OTHER COMPENSATION:

Pursuant to A.R.S. § 4-111, members of the Board are entitled to receive compensation at the rate of $50 per day while engaged in the business of the Board.
